Welcome to Keen Eye, Inc. where we are blogging about our eBay store's amazing deals! This week we are featuring our vintage Pendleton board shirts. We have sold hundreds of Pendletons and want to inform you of the history of this particular shirt. The shirts featured in this post is called a board shirt and sometimes they are called surf shirts. A way to tell the board shirt apart from other Pendleton shirts is that there are two front pockets which have flaps and they also have a square hem. The board shirt gained fame when the Beach Boys sported them on their Surfer Girl album cover in 60s. Wear them paired with jeans and a white t-shirt and you will be lookin' chill like a beach boy.
These vintage shirts can be found from the 50s-70s eras and are usually made in the USA. Usually the darker tag Pendleton shirts that do not say Made in the USA and have a care label on the inside of the right shoulder are from the 50s and were made in the USA. The lighter labels without the care instructions on the inside right shoulder are more from the 60s. Pendleton board shirts with larger lapels are usually from the 70s. We make sure to list all of our shirts that were made in the USA as such.
